apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Are You Ready For The Fall Cure?

032508_land.jpgThat is to say: do you need help getting rid of stuff, putting your finger on what's not quite working, figuring out why you never sit in your living room or why your collection of heath ceramics isn't fitting in your cupboards anymore? Well then you're in luck because we're gearing up to launch the Fall Cure 08 which aims to help you create a beautiful, healthy, organized home (in time for Thanksgiving):

Each Fall and Spring we launch 8 weeks of curing our homes. This doesn't mean killing yourself to have a magazine worthy home. It means spending some thoughtful time over the next 2 months to create a home that suits you and how you live.

LA will be playing host to all of the Southwest (Vegas, Phoenix, Austin, Santa Fe, San Diego, we're looking at you), Asia and Australia. We'll be posting an official sign up in the next week, but in the meantime, get your hands on a copy of the book, Apartment Therapy, The 8 Step Home Cure. This is also an excellent time to take some before pictures of your home and upload then to the Southwest Fall Cure '08 Flickr Set.

If you have any questions leave them in the comments and we'll do our darndest to get them answered.

I may jump in but have been doing some decluttering, organizing etc off and on since August, for starters, getting rid of a bulky, bland sectional sofa and may, repeat, may have found my couch, if the first person who replied to the Craig's List ad decides not to take it, then I get a crack at it and it's exactly what I'm after too. :-)

Since I'm a Seattlite, I think we go through the SF arm of AT to do it.

My goal is to make my place just a little better than it's been.

dsigninslc -- yes yes salt lake city can participate with the LA cure.

Mrs W -- You'll be with ATSF since you're in Seattle.

Canadians are with ATSF or ATChicago, depending on which one you're closest to.

Love the energy going on here. And remember you can tailor the Cure to fit whatever you're working on--maybe a room, maybe the whole house. Maybe you've already done the decluttering but need help with the arranging, we've gotcha covered.

I don't get it. So, if you're not in the Southwest, Asia or Australia, you can't sign up...?

Forgive me, I'm fairly new here.

I did the spring cure, and I feel sooo much better! I still could purge more stuff and organize. I think I will unofficially join and make more improvements!

I cannot wait! It's a shame the fall colors contest isn't AFTER the cure... I am going to finish this time. Last time I started to slide, and my bedroom never was finished. Oh, and then there is the "ghost closet" that wasn't done either...
