Cure Clock: 2 Weeks left!
Assignment: Read Week 7

Flickr Dscussion: Southwest Flickr Discussion Board11-6-curepic.jpgYou're almost there! We're already at Week 7 and you guys have been doing a fabulous job. The swap this weekend was a great success and we were so happy to meet so many of you and help you lighten the load. Now that your homes are lighter, let's focus in on the bedroom.

This week is a short week since you're either hosting Thanksgiving or you're a guest. So let's make the most of the days we do have a turn the bedroom into a place that is restful and rejuvenating (even if you can only do a small part of what you want, this is the time to get started). If you're away from home take note and see if the room you're staying in feels luxurious and wonderful or it feels sort of awkward and uncomfortable. When you get home see if you can diagnose your room and make it better! All assignments, tips for making a bedroom feel great and Swap update after the jump:

112408_truck.jpgFirst off--thanks to everyone that came out for the Swap on saturday, it was a resounding success! You guys brought a ton of stuff and let us haul it away (just like on clean house!) so that you could go home a little lighter. We've got plans for another, bigger one now that we know how much interest there is in something like this. And we have been in talks to have it on the eastside!

But on to Week 7!

Does your bedroom inspire you What would it take to make it someplace special? Turn back to your style trays and see if you can pinpoint a detail that would help your bedroom.

112408blueprint.jpgHere's a bedroom from my own style stray. I love simple white so that you can add any color you want to it!

Some tips and tricks that make our own bedroom feel luxurious
• We make the bed every morning
• Fresh flowers
• Wash sheets about once a week
• Down comforters and tempurpedic pillows keep us cozy
• We keep a window open in the evening because we like a cool room to sleep in
• We keep good books and a lamp on the nightstand along with a glass of water
• We keep from storing things under the bed
• We have really good shades that keep the light out in the morning.

We have done heaps of cleaning out lately and I am following the cure carefully - yet again it has taught me well... I never thought, in all that decluttering, that perhaps I could create a haven for myself. The surfaces are clear, everything has a place, but there isn't somewhere for me to chill - hmmm - What an idea? What a good idea.

Aw, Darcy's famous! That cat makes *everything* look comfy.

During Living Room Week I moved the ugly-but-oh-so-comfy arm chair into the bedroom, and moved the tv and bookshelves around to create a little reading corner. I bought a small plant stand at Garden Ridge and placed a silver charger on it for a little side table for tea. Now I have a cozy reading corner in the bedroom.

I still have a lot of clutter in the room (and bathroom) but I hope to complete it this week, then next week do a final run-through of the apt. Of course then's the real test- can I keep it decluttered and cozy past xmas?

Ha! that's my bedroom rendering. I didn't expect to stumble across it here. I finally finished it. I'll have to post the actual room to the gallery.

A short week? Heck, this is going to be longest week for me! Hooray for skipping Thanksgiving (at least partially)!

I'm so sad I missed the swap. :(
It looks like there was some pretty awesome stuff up for grabs! Hopefully work won't interfere with the next EASTSIDE swap! Woot!
