Alu Media Wall

f_8866.jpgInstalling a flatscreen can be a daunting task, especially if you have a fear of putting holes in your wall (or if you can't because you're a renter.) The Alu Media Wall at DWR offers a great solution.

Designed by Luciano Bertoncini exclusively for DWR, this clever entertainment center allows you to mount your flatscreen to the media wall, without the hassle of damaging your drywall or calling an electrician.

All the mounting hardware is included, and the bottom shelves acts as a nice area to diplay some tchotchkes or additional media accessories.
There's even a cord outlet at the back for easy cable management. $1398

What a great idea! I've been planning to hang the flat screen TV on the wall, but this is SOOOO much easier. Looks very sleek.

I've been looking for something exactly like this!

this is a decent piece--esp since it allows you to hang a tv without butchering a wall--but it feels a little late 1990s sf loft-style. i've seen a great piece by visu on www.horizonfurniture.com. look under the home entertainment link. i especially like this one:

unfortunately, it is more than 2x as expensive (!!!) as the piece above from dwr.

But at 24 inches deep, doesn't it negate the space-saving efficiency of a flatscreen?

I'd rather have this w/o the shelf.
