Buck the Animated Trophy Talking Deer Head

talking-buck-2-.jpgThank God! We have been looking for one of these talking deer heads to go over the mantle in the den...and just in time for the holidays!

According to the website, this bad boy is easy to mount and "comes with a remote control and a wireless microphone. At the touch of a button he will sing one of six tunes: Friends in Low Places, Suspicious Minds, La Grange, On the Road Again, Rawhide or Sweet Home Alabama, moving his lips in time to the music, turning his head and wiggling his ears. Alternatively you can speak into the microphone and Big Buck will mouth the words!"

This comes out of England, a land filled with high class, grand illusions and (often) shockingly bad taste… did you see Camilla when she came to the states?

Oh, I think the important feature is that Big Buck's wireless microphone allows him to give a speech on anything at all. Just think what it adds to that northwoods-themed wedding, union ceremony, or anniversary when the toasts come from a giant talking deer head!

(The Royals did a schmooze-and-pat tour at some up-from-the-slums venue in my local slum. The British press entourage were apparently alarmed by the local panhandlers. Admittedly, it's disconcerting when they get in your personal space and announce they're schizophrenics who have run out of medication -- the panhandlers, that is, not the press or the royal family.)

I also imagine this being quite useful for a nordic-themed haunted house.

No, that would be "My Friend's Low Places."

Hey, I was TRYING to be good... I made absolutely NO comment about the line in Alec's intro "this bad boy is easy to mount".

I just bought this at Walmart for $99 and it is awesome! I am a big Disney fan and thought it looked like Buck (Even has the same name!) in the Country Bear Jamboree. So we bought him a Santa Hat, hung small Christmas Balls from his antlers and used the computer to edit the Country Bear Christmas Hoedown soundtrack so that it will play the show and the deer will only sing his parts! Can you tell I used to work at Disneyland??!

The quality is A+ and he is extemely easy to mount to the wall. The weakest part of the package is the wireless mic. You can't get too far away and it hums a bit. But for most folks it will be just fine.

The only other drawback is that you have to plug it in. Not that I have a problem with not having to keep buying batteries for him but the cord kind of gives it away that it is more than just a deer head. If I wasn't in an apartment I would wire him so you wouldn't see the cord.

Is it worth it? Absolutely! This is one quality product that I am really excited to own!

My husband is an avid hunter. He eats, sleeps, & lives deer hunting. He has 6 wks of vacation. Every minute carefully planned aiming at certain days to make the absolute most of ANY time off. This is so great for him. He has a very demanding job, but never shows stress. He is a great father who spends time practicing with his son perfecting the "perfect shot." I only feel left alone toward the end of the season. Do you think this type of guy would like this thing?? Or do you think he look at me like I had lost my mind?? Any help would be great.

This is one of the coolest items I've ever seen. I teach children with learning disabilities and we already have quite a few real classroom pets and several animated animals. We dance to them and in general, every perks up and gets more lively. I can't WAIT to afford a buck!!! I'm going to hide outside the door with the microphone and warn the students that their teacher is coming down the hall & they better quiet down & get to work. I can't WAIT. They will LOVE the surprise and I can't wait to see their faces as they try to comvince mw that the deer on the wall TALKED!!!!

I own a dollhouse tearoom where we give dress-up tea parties for little girls. The 5 and 6 year olds are amazed when Buck starts talking. They keep telling on him. But now my mic does not work--looks like a wire came apart or something inside the mic. Does anyone know if any wireless mic will do? I did not use Buck for my parties last week and it seemed boring. I need an answer right away. So what do you thinK.
