i had the same experience. i was at a friend's house and seeing this, i thought "that's fabulous" and only just stopped myself from uttering it out loud with the realization that doing so would qualify me for the looney bin.
but if i had a kid, i would purchase it.
just ordered this online for my 19 month old son. cannot wait to get it! i have the frog pod by boon also and it is such an amazing product. the quality is great!
...but you have to clean it out, right? But maybe that's a small price to pay because your kid can't fall off it (or in it).

There are kid-sized potty seats to place on top of regular seats for real toilets, and many come with handles. Stand-alone potties made more sense when kids were being trained before two. Now that most kids are being trained at 2.5 to three, there isn't much of a point. And they take up so much ROOM...
we love ours. it's much easier for my daughter to use this at her height than to climb up on the adult sized toilet. she empties the "scooper" into the toilet herself + flushes. she uses it like a stool in the picture + i sit on it next to the tub when she takes a bath. it's really sturdy + holds up to 220 lb. it's inexpensive at target
