Just like your description of this, it really appeals to one's emotions or aesthetic wants or needs.... but once you actually use it... SUCKS! That piece of crap can be found at Walmart for 2.50 and what a waste of money it is.

That's too bad that it's flimsy because I think it would be a prettier alternative to what's available for bath sponges/cloths.

PS. Gregory: If your prom was anything like the ones at my high school (in the valley) or proms anywhere else as I can imagine, I don't think you missed out. I didn't go to my prom and frankly it made no impact on my life.

jamjaree: thanks for the comforting words; I actually didn't go by choice, since I was one of those nerds who hated high school with a vengeance.

But don't mind me as I tap into my inner angst. I'll just sit here, listen to my old Smiths LPs, and write some overly profound poetry as I reminisce about the night that never happened (also in the Valley!).

i also skipped prom on purpose.... and those sponges look like they are a baby's gift - ie pastel pink, pretty, but useless in that they are way too soft/delicate to do their job!

I'm pretty sure I've seen the second one in a boutique-y store. I touched it and it seemed uncomfortably stiff. Hopefully it softens up when wet...

They have the carnation at Target.

I've tried these. They do feel stiff at purchase. Soften up marvelously and are luscious for a while.

Then they mold. The foam is too dense to allow for complete drying, at least in our humid weather. In LA or somewhere with single digit humidity it might work.

They might not be so terribly useful, but they would look lovely in a bowl in the bathroom. Or you could use them in a 3-d type of art installation in the bathroom.

I thought the concensus when we did this less than a month ago was that these were somewhat attractive but useless.

Oh yeah. They sold these back in the day when I worked at Crabtree & Evelyn (bills had to be paid, ya know?). They soften up wonderfully when wet, but they start to smell FAST. And they never go back to that pretty shape when they dry.
