Pebble Bath Mat

pebblebathnonslip.jpg

When we think of non-slip bath mats, we think of those ugly textured rubber sheets common to hotel/motel bathrooms. But for small children or older folks, having a non-slip surface in the tub or shower can mean the difference between a safe wash time and a hazardous fall. So we’re really pleased to see an aesthetic option for a practical need, like this Pebble Non-slip bath mat from Solutions.com (we just noticed that ATNY has posted a small list of other products they liked from Solutions today).

Secured down by 100 suction cups, the bath mat is customizable in shape/size (just trim away excess “pebbles”), and comes in a lovely looking green or in clear for $12.95. We just wonder how easy (or not) this is to clean.

Solutions rocks. Or maybe I'm just turning into my mother.

Nah, they definitely rock.

I've had one of these for about a year, and I've found there are two tricks to keeping it acceptably clean:
1. Remove it from the tub floor and hang it over the tub rim to air and dry between uses (Using two hands to remove it minimizes the risk of accidental rips, I find.)
2. Wash it in the washing machine about once a month (I stuff it into a nylon mesh laundry bag and wash on warm, regular detergent, no softener.)

This was an impulse buy, and I have no regrets. I'll buy another one just like it when this one wears out.
