We're so used to plush terry cloth towels in our bathroom that when we received a set of striped hammam towels from UK-based Toast, we were skeptical on how they would hold up. While we wouldn't use them every day, we definitely can see how great these would be for traveling.
These towels are flat woven from Turkey, and can be easily tucked away in a carry-on and dries pretty quickly. We love the broken-in softness and rustic look of the stripes. The hammam towels retail about $50 a pop, and measure roughly 66"x 36", depending on the style.
Check out more great stuff at Toast--and yes, they do ship international!
I've never traveled with a towel - those look pretty enough to wear as a wrap.

when backpaking or staying in hostels a towel is key. While in Southern Africa i used a sarong and it served its (multiple) purposes perfectly. Kept me dry, kept me clothed, washed and dried quickly.

Why wouldn't you use them everyday? I think they look great but if I couldn't use them everyday I wouldn't really consider them.
