Towel Off: Soft Towels on the Cheap?

111507_towels.jpgLast weekend, we got ambitious and got together old clothes and towels for Goodwill. Knee-deep in our collection of tatty towels (some that date back to the 80s), we started thinking about options for affordable yet sumptuous towels. We're giving two thumbs up to Bed Bath and Beyond's Turkish Towels.

After quite a few washings, the towels are still soft and absorbent--and $25 for one these bath towels, it's not a bad deal. Anyone else have any other affordable, quality towels?

Available at Bed Bath and Beyond.

Target has a very nice line by Thomas O'Brien. The oversized (58X30") bath towels are $9.99/pc.

I own a few and the towels have held up nicely through multiple washes and are still feel new. Very pleased with the quality and the price.

I just wanted to post an idea about recycling old towels... the ones that are too tattered for goodwill. Donate them to your vet! Our vet is always glad to receive old towels, blankets and comforters, and even some rugs, for use in their kennel. These soft items are especially great for post-surgical bedding.
