apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Irene 3 mirror by Emanuele Montanelli

080807irene3.jpgKeep it together. The mirror/lighting relationship in the bathroom can be a tricky one if you're going for a more modern look. First there's the fact that there's always more "traditional" lighting options and barely any contemporary ones, and then there's the added challenge of trying to coordinate a lighting choice with a mirror style... (Do you do a beveled edge? Do you do one in a frame? Do you do a medicine cabinet style for more storage? etc...) Well, perhaps consider bypassing both and going for one that has everything integrated into one. The Irene3 mirror by Emanuele Montanelli features an ultra mod form as well as built in added features...

There's a light integragted at the top, as well as a space for glass shelving towards the bottom. It apparently also comes in different sizes and variations. Available at Hastings Tile and Bath. (via InteriorDesign.net)

Love the design, but wouldn't the light create awful shadows? You'd need sconces on the sides, and that'd spoil the effect.... It would be great in a guest bathroom, though.
