John Michael Kohler Arts Center Commissioned Washrooms

Sheboygan_AnnAgee.jpg

The bathroom as art gallery? John Michael Kohler Arts Center commissioned six artists to transform six public washrooms into vivid examples of how the humble restroom could be transformed into a canvas of expression. My favourite is the Sheboygan Men's Room by Ann Agee, a gentleman's lavatory lavishly decorated in cobalt blue and white tiling "inspired by historic motifs and with imagery devoted to the subject of water".

If you're going to go over the top, go all the way, and we like how these bathrooms are an extension of Kohler Co.'s eye-catching print ad campaigns. A more detailed walk-through and additional photos of the washrooms here.

That urinal is beautiful. Who would've thought one would ever say that? I know a man who would love to use that restroom...
