Kohler's Sok Tub

03_07soktub.jpg
We recently asked you in a survey if you were the tub type, shower type or a little of both. So this little story is for the tub folk. In our house... the tub rules and this overflow tub by Kohler is the stuff that dreams are made of. As you can see it has a sort of "pool gutter" that handles the overflow of water and with room for two, you just may never get out.

from the manufacturer: The ultra-deep reservoir of the sok effervescent bath allows two bathers to completely immerse themselves in the water as thousands of champagne-like bubbles emerge from thirteen ports, gently caressing for a soothing bathing experience. This model features a continuous flow of water over the sides of the basin for a relaxing visual and aural sensation, and chromatherapy lighting provides a full spectrum of color that washes over you. Outer shell: 103-3/4" x 41" x 26" Bathing area: 84" x 31-1/2" x 24"

priced at: $10,914.00 and up...it is the stuff that dreams are made of in our house.

It's beautiful. But excuse me? This would be Southern California, where having an "overflow" anything for water would seem like something deserving of a broken arm.

Just give me a garden hose and a bar of soap please!

This tub is not wasteful if you compare it to things like everyone in LA sitting in traffic idling their cars for two hours a day...and then throwing a political shit-storm in order to get billions of dollars to expand the 405. Shouldn't that money be used to expand public transportation? Oh yeah, who uses public transportation? The poor and blue collar people of the city.

What about all the lawns in Southern California when most of the area is a natural DESERT? Let's not be hippocrites.

It has a recirculating pump. Once it's full you turn off the tap and the water recirculates just like a whirlpool tub.

just my opinion, but i gotta say - any kind of jet/port is gross. bacteria city and there is nothing you can do to get rid of it, even if you spray with bleach. i still don't understand why these features are considered a "luxury" item. everytime i hear someone is installing a 'jacuzzi tub' (and the one above is just a very fancy and expensive jacuzzi tub) i want to vomit. yuk.
