Look! Space Saving Wall Mounted Bathroom Vanity at IkeaHacker

032308_ikeahacksink.jpgIf you have a small bathroom that needs to be remodeled on a budget, check out this modern solution from IkeaHacker by David M.

The inspiration was Kohler's Purist Wall-mount vanity which currently retails for $1,800. But David's clever solution comes in at about $300--for both the sink AND the vanity! It's a Ikea Stolmen chest with 2 drawers ($80), mounted on the wall and topped with a sleek sink and faucet from Miro Ceramica ($225).

While I agree that it's clever and attractive - this is clearly a short-term solution.

Those IKEA cabinets aren't made for extended use in damp environments - give it a couple years and the cabinet will delaminate and have to be trashed...

I'm more intrigued by the fact that the toilet appears to have a control panel.

I think the toilet is a Toto - they have a ton of toilets that work as both a toilet and bidet and have a control panel.

Actually I love that shower curtain! Does anyone recognize who makes it?

That's a great look!

Electronic toilets are a big thing in Japan, there are a number of manufacturers--a lot of them have heated seats and whole deal. Toasty on cold mornings!

I think there is a mention of the toilet seat mfr. on his flickr photos. It's Japanese but not Toto.

love the look. But the comment about the durability makes me reconsider trying this myself.
