Color choices are always described in terms of mood, aren't they? There's the "tranquil" bathroom, the "cheerful" bathroom, the "dramatic" bathroom, blahdety blah. We've all heard the same song and dance before...or have we? To change things up a bit, we studied a collection of bathroom photos--but instead of slapping a generic mood or use tired key phrases to identify all of 'em, we decided to match a song to each bathroom that best embodies its unique style and ambiance...Listen to our bathroom jukebox after the jump...

When we spotted this lime-green bathtub (or is it chartreuse?), the first thing that popped in our mind was the Pogues. Remember them? A band of Irish and English mates playing punk-ish rock infused with Irish folk music.
This one's probably going to be obvious, but after listening to this track a bit while staring at this photo, it just seemed to fit. Can you imagine lounging in this tub with a bottle of champagne chilling in the ice bucket stand next to you while belting this song out? We can. Very, very easily. Perhaps too easily...
This one was a little difficult. Initially, we had chosen Annie Lennox's "Walking on Broken Glass" because, well, the crystal beaded curtain and the whole moody atmosphere...but then, we watched the video and realized not only did it not fit, but how did we ever forget that John Malkovich totally has a starring role in the video? Awesome. Anyway, this could be our most controversial pick yet, but we're sticking to our guns: Taking a bath in a black bathroom in a silver tub is both glamorous and dramatic in a strange, emotive way. Therefore, the song that we picked to fit this tall order is...
An all-raspberry bathroom. Looks delectable, doesn't it? We combed through our collection of girly pop music (read: total guilty pleasure) to find the right song to go with this bathroom; and while we really did consider Katy Perry's cover of "Use Your Love," we decided to save your ears from bleeding and opt for Ms. Aretha Franklin...
This dainty cottage-chic bathroom is feminine without being overly fussy. It was a toss-up between one of our current favorite folk birds, Laura Marling, or her fellow Brit, Adele. Final verdict:
Remember this decadent bathroom? While we tried desperately to sneak in, say, GZA's Liquid Swords in this playlist, we couldn't deny the fact that there was one track among the ones we selected that just stood out above the rest when describing this bathroom:
Fabulous wallpaper? Yes. This bathroom looks like something we'd see on a TV show on, say, the CW. Where all those 90210-ers or Gossip Girls would congregate in a bathroom to touch up their makeup or...or...text message...or...whatever it is those characters do on those shows. With that in mind, we picked this cover of Amy Winehouse doing a reggae-tinged Sam Cooke classic...
For the last bathroom shot, we decided to end on this affordable and highly organized bathroom. Utilizing everything from wooden coat pegs to organize towels and other bathroom accessories to simple Ikea elements (the sink, the shelf, those tin containers), this bathroom manages to work in all the necessities plus more thanks to some pretty slick solutions. With that in mind, our final pick of the day (which may also become an anthem for Mondays):
Hope you enjoyed our musical bathroom jukebox...! And if you're tired of your current playlist and wanting to hear some new music, we heard
this band is really, really good...especially
the drummer...

I love the ladder/towel rack in the raspberry bathroom. Anyone know where to find one?

The first song fits though Lily Allen might work or even the Coffee Song by Osibisa . The raspberry bathroom with the ladder fits works i suppose. I think i would have put steely dan in place of jeff buckley. and Natural Woman in place of Purple Rain. and for the last one, i would say some upbeat Parisian cafe music maybe some Carla Bruni or even a little Dave Matthews.
sunny places need soothing sunny songs....

There are few things I like more than a good luxurious bath and fewer things I like more than Jeff Buckley. Great post!

I looove the first bathroom. It gives me a very sever case of bathroom envy (oh how I would love to not be able to use the toilet as an arm rest in the tub). The minute I own or get a flexible landlord and a clawfoot tub, it is mine!

And the wallpaper one could totally have been Purple Rain.
