The Slanket

020207slanket.jpg

It's been kinda cold lately! Many of us will be snuggling up with a blanket to read or watch tv. However, it can be an awkward task to keep the blanket covered, and still use your arms to hold, say, a magazine or remote. We saw this quirky product via thisnext, called "the Slanket", that addresses this issue. The website says "It's not a poncho! It's not a Robe! There is no hole for your head!"...

The design is simply a large fleece blanket with loose, oversized sleeves that don't restrict your arms, and still keep them covered. A very novel and borderline hokey idea, but also kinda "why didn't anyone think of this before" brilliant at the same time. Would you try a Slanket?

HAHAHA...omg, my girlfriend has been trying to convince me to get one of those for her ever since seeing an informercial for one of those slankets.

I have a party that requires poncho attire this weekend. Perhaps this is the impetus for a purchase.

I bought one of these last year when i first read about them and I thought it was a brilliant idea for snuggling up on the couch. I wasn't impressed when I got it, unfortunately. After a week of trying to enjoy it, I ended up just cutting it up and using the pieces as cleaning and polishing rags. The problem is that it's actually too big to be practical (found myself getting tangled up in it - not in a good way) and the fleece they use looks and feels cheap. I didn't like it against my skin at all. A shame, really, as I still think it's a great idea.

I don't know what Laurie is talking about. The Slanket is the greatest thing ever. My wife and I have 2 of them. The fleece is really think and hasn't pilled at all. Laurie is right about one thing. The Slanket is big, but "getting tangled up in it - not in a good way", I don't even see how that is possible. The Slanket has been the best purchases I have made in recent memory.

A friend of mine got one of these as a gift from her husband, and she loves it. She nicknamed it "Slankie."

Thank you, Jonathan! Maybe now that the Slanket has been "endorsed" by AT, Gregory will cave in and get me one. :)
