Just below I mentioned my fondness for separate beds (not going to happen in our small apartment), and lo and behold I see the Argington Ayres Twin Bed from Design Public. A couple of these and you could actually have sleeping accommodations for four, thanks to a trundle bed option. In our household, it would likely become our cats' sleeping area...or where I could gently fall onto when my better half pushes me off while trying to steal some warmth.
