Fluttua C: The Floating Round Bed

atla031208-floatbed01.jpgLago's Fluttua C floating bed is not only unique for it's single post "floating" design, but also because it has that 60's mod vibe with its round shape...

atla031208-floatbed02.jpgThe Fluttua C bed affixes to the wall, while also being supported by a central post structure that supports the platform. If the circular mattress is a bit to Austin Powers for you, it's also available in a standard rectangular shape.

Groovy, Baby! Whip out the satin sheets, turn on the lava lamp, and crank up the Marvin Gaye. I'm ready for Client 9.

I love it. You really need to NOT have a small space, though. A round bed is about as space-INefficient as you can get.

"Where do you buy sheets??"

One buys standard flat sheets and tucks them in...
...or takes them to a seamstress to customize them.

My daughter has the Ikea round bed- got it for a great price on craigslist. It is fantastic, but yes, it is a space stealer.

Blurgh! It looks as enjoyable as sleeping on a giant foam coaster.

Would the floating effect of the bed with the light underneath be an example of a shadow gap?

Okay... I like the IDEA of a round bed, but I would want it to be bigger. Each time I see someone on one, it looks like if you turn over during the night, you'll have limbs out.

That blurry first picture looks like Anthony Bourdain with only a shirt on. I could be 100% sure if there was a cigarette dangling from his mouth.

Haha, Anthony Bourdain. I suppose it could be, but what made you think of that first? Super fan?

This bed looks like more trouble than it's worth.

Not a super fan, no.
I have no idea why I thought of him.
Maybe it's the shirt.
