Look: Collapsible Bed With Tubular Grid

atlanicolafrombermbed.jpgNicola From Bern's prototype adjustable and collapsible Delta Bed has us daydreaming about getting our hands on some wood working tools and some thick plastic piping from Home Depot to make our own version of this bed frame concept (now only if we had somewhere to wood work). It's quite brilliant in the space saving department...

i don't really get these... like, you still have to store a mattress or bedroll or whathaveyou. so what's it matter how small a package your bed breaks down to? i mean, it's cool, but it's not like a whole package.

I'm similarly perplexed. What's the point of a collapsible frame if one does not have a collapsible mattress. I guess its easy for moving...

Cheers!

Show me one that makes into a groovy sofa, and I'll be all over it...

You could use this with an air mattress. But I'd like to know how much weight those plastic tubes would support, and what's keeping them from sliding out of the holes.

Cute, unpractical idea. When you have a mattress and bedding on top of it, who cares what it looks like?
