Before & After: Viv’s Studio Makeover
Sydney

071609ishchi01.jpgWe’ve loved watching the progress of Viv’s studio on her blog Ish & Chi. Over the past few months Viv has been keeping us updated with handfuls of projects she's been hard at work on and we were excited today to have seen the finished product. See the after below the jump…

071609ishchi02.jpg We think Viv and her husband have done a fantastic job! Viv's aim was to create "a playful, colorful space I can call my own and one that will inspire me to design". With a budget of $900, Viv came just under and achieved all that she wanted. A lot of the art work you seen around the studio Viv has made and is available from her Etsy store. Be sure to stop by her blog Ish & Chi for more info on her studio makeover and other projects she's been working on around the home.071609ishchi03.jpg071609ishchi04.jpg

Bravo, Viv! It doesn't really seem like a basement room anymore b/c of your new lighting and use of bright splashes of color.

A washer/dryer mounted to the wall??? That's certainly a first. Big improvement overall. I love your colors.

That is the FIRST time I have ever seen an armoire used as a surround to an appliance and all I can say is...

BLOODY BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always tend to love the befores/afters with realistic budgets.

I liked the industrial/minimal look of the original better. This is very decorator-y, cute, but so "done." But that's just me.

Oh the irony of "paintitbright" preferring grey!

LBhirise, come to Australia and you'll see plenty of dryers mounted on walls ;-)

Well done on the makeover, Viv - it looks fantastic!

Why was the dryer so high on the wall?

Stunning! The rooms seems so much brighter now. The painted armoire looks perfect, love that color! And the board over the desk is great. This goes in my inspiration file!
