We know many of you out there are suffering from allergies and/or colds right now. We've been sniffling and sneezing like crazy with all the particles in the air, so we thought we'd pass on a recommendation born out of personal experience: Puffs Plus with the Scent of Vicks. Puffs were already our choice in facial tissues (we have a friend's grandmother who becomes irate if given any other brand), but these also contain aloe lotion with a hint of eucalyptus, menthol, and camphor scent that gives our nasal passages a bit of relief. It's snot just marketing...it really does feel better!

i just KNOW you wrote the whole article JUST for that last line! :D

I got these the other week. They are the best tissues EVER. Just sniffing them made me feel better. I put a box on my desk at work and soon the whole office smelled like Vicks. It was wonderful for my congestion.

grrr... the makers of Vicks, Procter and Gamble, are one of the worst eco-offending companies out there! see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Procter_&_Gamble#Environmental_record.
why not just buy eucalyptus oil as a natural decongestant or eucalyptus leaves to hang in your bathroom? i hear that when placed in a bathroom while you're taking a steamy shower, their oils permeate the air and smell lovely and help you breathe better. please stay on mission, AT!

Noted about P&G. I think almost any large scale product manufacturer is going to have some nasty environmental history, so it's good to know.
Trust me heather leaf, if eucalyptus oil really did work effectively, I'd be singing its praises from here till the end of the world. I dab a little peppermint oil under my nostrils too, I use a neti pot, and I've even used wasabi in the vain attempt to open these clogged nostrils. None of them really work.
Haha, there is actually a very effective way to clear open nasal passages that isn't often discussed: orgasms. Natural, fun, free. The effects seem to last anywhere between 3-30 minutes.
