The Summer 07 issue has a really interesting article regarding the topic of mid-century preservation. It is very common that many city governments do not consider 40 or 50 year old houses "historic", therefore easily allowing them to be demolished and torn down. The article shows how 6 cities are dealing with this issue and how they started their own preservation groups to save their mid-century architecture. There's also a great story on a Cliff May restoration, and the cover story on Donald Wexler's steel homes in Palm Springs is a must read for any MCM fan. They actually interview him and he gives some really great historical insights, and he gives his opinion on the recent excitement over prefab homes (very intersting...) Find out what that is, by checking out the Summer 07 issue Atomic Ranch, on newstands now!
