Nothing like a jolt of color to remind you that Spring has sprung! Browsing through the The March 2007 issue of Home Magazine, we were immediately struck by the feature on the apartment of Beth Arrowood, owner of design-store Niba Home in Miami. The piece is aptly titled "Rainbow Riot."

With the help of designer brothers Doug and Gene Meyer, her two bedroom apartment is an explosion of bold colors with tons of vintage charm and lots of character. You can't deny the playful spirit of her place. Granted, these bright colors might not be everyone's first choice, but if you've been itching to inject some brightness into your space, they do offer some simple tips to get you started. I just can't shake the feeling that some of these extremes of "COLOR COLOR COLOR!" in interior design of late is going to quick look as tacky and out-of-date as some of the similar excesses of the 70s.

I'll take color and envelope-pushing design statements over safe, "tasteful" and "timeless" designs any day.

These are the kind of interiors and rooms that are memorable. Why is everyone so affraid of color - this space is amazing!!!!
