Hip Hop and Pop! Even though he didn't receive any VMA's last week, Kanye West's" Los Angeles home did get the honor of being featured in the August 2007 Interior Design magazine (via stereogum). The "Louis Vuitton Don's" home is an eclectic mix of minimal mid-century and bold pop art. It's a far cry from the houses you ususally see on MTV Cribs.

After reading the article and looking at the slideshow, I can't help feeling that the whole space is overly curated--to the point of looking like a retail showroom (or cocktail lounge) in Las Vegas or South Beach. Not really a fan of most of the design or art choices. A bit too much like a big-budget music video set for my taste.

I can appreciate his style and his taste. At first I thought it was a bit too sterile or a little too "done" but that is what people like Kanye do....they pay people to have their stuff "done" so I eased up. I love it....he's a child of his era...and you can't hate that.
