013108readymade2.jpgAs we mentioned in Part 1, the Feb/March 2008 issue of Readymade Magazine has a bunch of great inspiration inside. Another project that caught our eye was this bookcase customization by Thomas Wold...

He used found and salvaged pieces to create a "painterly composition." We love all the different pieces juxtaposed together, but we're thinking it would definitely visually dominate the room. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, and could be a great starting point for inspiration to pull a room together from. However, if you wanted to go with a more subdued colorscheme, we're wondering what it would look like if the whole thing was painted a single color, like all white or black. We think the difference of textures would be equally as intriguing. What would you do? Does anyone have a piece like this in their home, or would anyone consider making something like this? Check out the entire how-to in the Feb/March 2008 issue of Readymade on newstands now. (this project is still not up on their website yet, but you can check out the rest of the contents in the current issue here)

I saw this... I want one. Can anyone just MAKE one for me?
