Quick Change! We always love it when magazines do those "one item = three different looks" type of pictorials. The
July 2007 issue of Real Simple has a fun editorial called "
Decorating with Throw Pillows." They used a single couch but gave it three different style personalities by using different throw pillows and accessories...
They gave examples of a "modern" look, a "traditional" look, and an "eclectic" look. Although the emphasis of the story was supposed to be on pillows, I found it was more interesting to see how the couch was able to fit into each style nicely, as well as the artwork ideas in the background. The couch, by the way, is called the "Presley sofa" from
Hamilton furniture. The rest of the story has some good tips on choosing pillows, as well as additional info about pillow inserts and placement ideas to achieve the three looks. Read it
here or pick up the
July 2007 issue that is still on newstands.

I've got to say that i'm not a fan that they reference/encourage the karate-chop technique on pillows though...

kellen-
so funny you say that!- I was just having a discussion with someone about that after seeing a designer do that on a decor show- i'm not really a fan of that look either- I must be some traditional decor trick, but it looks weird to me...
