Los Angeles Interior designer Kevin Haley's home is featured in the July 2008 British Elle Decoration. Located on a hill top in Hollywood, it's a gorgeous mix of lush colors and glamorous details. We're in love with all the turquoise, gold, black and red. More pics after the jump...

One thing that really caught our attention was the use of a mirror in the sitting room. He used a tall floor mirror that matches the height of the door. It's framed out in the same color as the trim of the door as well. The result gives the illusion of a pass through, which is a great visual trick for a small space.
He also uses mirrors to reflect his jungle-like garden, as he says "...I like to feel cocooned inside the house... but the outside is vital too- the way the light, scents and sounds of nature come into the house is as important as the way it's furnished. There's nothing more tranquil than staring out at moving leaves..."

because we don't get to say it very often, i must--this is particularly, completely ravishing (with a sunken aspect and garden off the living room, heaven)!

Serene, moody, unique...there are too many adjectives to name to describe the divinity of this abode.

Kevin Haley's house was featured about a year or two ago in House & Garden (I think?)...and the backyard is truly sumptuous and inspiring. If you love the photos you see here, try to seek it out because those photos were truly stunning (as well)! His website has some photos too..

Wonderful, sumptuous textiles. It makes such a difference to have fabulous silk velvets, etc. At least, that's what I tell myself, since I'm a notorious hoarder of fabric.
