Look! Cheetah Print Carpet
Domino May 2008

050708cheetah1.jpgWe're normally not very attracted to animal prints. However, we're strangely drawn to this Cheetah carpeting that was featured in the home tour of Stephen Shubel in the May 2008 Domino... (survey after jump)

We think it totally works in the bedroom pictured. We love how he's kept a neutral palette of simple wood and caramel/honey tones, yet it still has tons of personality through the textural accessories he's added. We actually also love it on the stairs too (although we may be swayed because of that cute dog!!) 050708cheeta2.jpgWhat do you guys think? Hot or Not?

Recently saw an antelope print carpet that was incredible too.

In my world, leopard print is a neutral. But I just love it that way...

Love it! If you haven't seen the domino issue, a big part of the reason it works so well is the rest of his palette is so neutral. The carpet is the perfect pop. In my brightly colored apartment, it would look bordello, I think. That wouldn't stop me, though!

How does this qualify for an "ick"?

I've been a leopard and cheetah fan for a long time. (looks around room at the cheetah throws and the leopard cat toys).

Not an animal print fan but I do like the look of that carpet, it works very well in that room.

I recently saw a Leopard-print wall-to-wall carpet installation on one of those house-flipping shows on Bravo or TLC: I loved it and would seriously consider it for my own home.

I started looking for cheetah and leopard again. I need an area rug. This one is perfect, except it's wool. I need something I can steam clean at home.

But, since we're on that topic, first come, first served,
6'x9' wool leopard print rug with black border, $149.00, with free shipping.

Sigh. I want it. But I get cat hair balls. I need synthetic.

There's only ONE left.

I loved the carpet and the dog. But I can't think of anything else positive to say about the room.

I love that room, but I think if it were mine, it'd feel a bit cluttered. I like that layered look, but I have a mild case of OCD, so . . .

Love the cheetah rug. I'm in the minority when talking with friends though.

I'm strangely drawn to the Hermes blanket. Someone should make rip-offs.
