apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

On the Set: My Boys

081308_myboys.jpgSo, earlier this week, we showed a call girl's London flat, and here's something completely opposite: TBS' sitcom My Boys is said to be the "anti-Sex and the City," where the main character, PJ, is a tomboy who is a sports columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times and her ultimate past time is playing poker with her best guy friends. Take a look at photos of PJ's quintessential Chicago apartment after the jump...

Living room shot with what looks a lot like a version of the Hans Wegner Papa Chair...

081308_myboys3.jpgThe dining area, converted into a poker room. We're really loving that window seat cushion with the red overhead lampshade.

081308_myboys4.jpgHallway, painted a lovely golden yellow and bright white trim. PJ's bedroom is actually pretty feminine compared to the rest of the apartment: the walls are deep burgundy, the bed has an off-white white tufted headboard.

081308_myboys5.jpgThe bathroom uses older fixtures and details, like penny tiles and black tile borders around the tub.

I love My Boys.

Good call. This is one of the few TV apartments that seems like a real apartment and not so much like a set. Carrie Bradshaw's is the other apartment that seems real.

I was hoping to see a picture of the stadium seats in the entry way. I always stare at them with jealousy when I watch the show. Im shooting for some tom-boy chic in my loft. :) Its the ultimate bachlorette pad (doesn't scare the boys away)

That is one wall color (in the living room) that would make me yak on a sample strip but looks great on the wall with lots of white trim.

I love this show! I agree with Sengelke, her entryway is the best...I'm trying for tomboyish-feminine in my living room to placate my fiance, but only have the great mickey mantle framed so far....
