Chris and Eric Fenmore of Corona Del Mar have a great tour of their home in this past weekend's Orange County Register Home & Garden section. The couple run Front Porch Creations, a landscape design company. Their cottage is a fun mix of styles, yet retains a feeling that is both sophisticated and comfy. Check out more pics after the jump...

Chris kept most of the basic furnishings in neutral tones and added warm accents of color in the accessories. There's a lot of bold black and white accents that give everything a pop and keep thins feeling modern and fresh. She also mixes in a lot of vintage thrift store finds.

Can someone please explain to me what the deal is with the "karate chop" throw pillows?

What a beautiful home! Beautiful and comfortable...like they live there. Just wonderful.

Lovely home, but I'd never place a $300 Jonathan Adler Alpaca throw in the kid's room...
...and I wouldn't be thrilled to be invited over for dinner and find that I was to be seated on a bench.

It's refreshing to see an Orange County home that isn't a new construction faux Tuscan cookie cutter. I would be thrilled to have dinner or coffee on one of those dining room benches any time.

Woah.. someone went a little over the top with the KWID fabrics.

The bench has a back, perfect for company.
Love the vintage pieces.
Karate chop pillows are like those stress reliever balls you keep by your desk, yet prettier.

I like the KWID fabrics, and I don't think there's too much of them at all.

That is so OC.
Low ceilings.
Lots of sq ft.
Every current decor trend in the last 25 years represented.
Like throw pillows, green glass, orange accents, True Religion Jeans, Shabby Chic, MCM...
That said, I clicked because I liked the living room(minus 5 or 6 pieces).
Specifically that black and white chair.
Nice.
I could live without the white mantel.

Oh, I like the KWID fabrics too. I just don't like that it's used on multiple window treatments, the headboard and those chairs. It's a little too matchy for my taste.
