Remember when all anyone talked about was Feng Shui? It seems to have died down a little, but we were just remded of these great emails we used to get in our inbox from a Feng Shui expert. In hindsight we realize they have something in common with The Cure:
"Fishgirl" or Katy Allgeyer, has been working in Feng Shui for over 20 years and though we can't remember how we ever stumbled upon her, we signed up to get her monthly newsletter. Unfortunately she doesn't send it out anymore (it was filled with wisdom and tips for how to apply Feng Shui to the home) she has her Top Ten Tips on her website. Here are a couple that remind us of The Cure:
1) Keep the Lid Down
2) Remove the Clutter
3) Keep it Clean
4) Let there be Light
5) Stop and Smell the Roses

Hilarious! I never knew keeping the lid down was good feng shui. It does keep small kittens from falling in, though, and I figure that's got to prevent negative energy.

That's funny, I am moving at the end of the month, and having all sorts of trouble figuring out how to arrange my new apartment - I was thinking about what a funny fad feng shui was.

I have that lamp as well! I've probably had it for 6 years now, yet I saw it at Target not too long ago still.

Hi Laure,
My Top 10 Tips were originally published in an article I was commissioned to write in 2003 for the now defunct LA paper "New World Press" which predates the suggestions in "The Cure". I appreciate the plug to Feng Shui By Fishgirl and I regret that I did discontinue my complimentary feng shui newsletter service awhile ago. Since relocating to the east coast in 2006, I simply have gotten too busy with my practice and writing to keep up with it. I apologize to you and to my other readers for not keeping it going.
Far from being a fad, feng shui has finally reached the mainstream and is in more demand now --in these uncertain economic times-- than ever. While feng shui is not a magic cure, it can provide a supportive environmental foundation from which to gain strength and confidence in dealing with life's situations.
All the best to you!
