Most folks own a ubiquitous brand vacuum and replacing your vac bags isn't much of an issue. But a few of us own vacs with replacement bags that are hard to track down (we still don't recommend bagless vacs after speaking to air quality specialists). We understand why there needs to be different sizes of vac bags for different shaped models, but the sheer amount of proprietary shapes out there is ridiculous. The Swedish company Dustie Systems AB thought so too, and have created a vac bag replacement system that can be adopted for use in a wide variety of models...
Dustie: The Universal Vacuum Bag System
The Dustie vacuum cleaner bag system is composed of a universal holder specific to your model. This holder then allows adoption of the Dustie's universal vac bags to be used...bags that don't require you to match some confusing alphabetical designation. They just fit! We're hoping to see Dustie or something like it make it the States because we think vacuums and vacuum bags are the equivalent of inkjet printers: they practically give you the vac, but then kill you on the purchase of the bags.

if these things work, that's awesome. the bags are a pain, and having a universal bag takes some of the 'yuck' out of vacuuming.
