Home Chic Home Designer Ironing Board Cover

atla032408chichomefloralironingbo.jpgWe've been on a dark colours kick these days. Perhaps it's a rebound effect from living with and choosing colourful items and attire, but we're not partial to more sedate and darker palettes. We're even thinking of redressing our ironing board cover with some new duds...

The two designs from Home Chic Home's might very well do the trick. We especially like the Geometric Design Ironing Board Cover for its simple sophistication...stylish, but not busy. There's also a floral design for those of you looking for something a bit more ornate.

Our only worry is although we're loving the black and navy colours these days, larger pieces like this might seem out of place in our otherwise colourful and light home. So we also have a backup choice that is equally simple and geometric (or I guess we could just get an ironing board blanket), but lighter in colour from Dandi. We might also just look to heading down to Michael Levine or checking out Repro Depot and making out own ironing board cover. Yet another task to add onto the DIY to-do list.

Good grief - Who cares what the ironing board cover looks like as long as it's not torn?

And don't the silver-metallic ones work better - reflecting the heat back into your clothes making ironing easier?

I don't know if we just got the one mutant cover out of the lot but I bought one of these for my mom and the fit on the ironing board was terrible and the packing creases seem molded into the cover. Guess we'll be recycling it into something else.

Actually, Two's Company makes these and frankly, the quality of their products have gone down hill. I carried the sewing kits in my store for a long time but found that just laying on the shelves they started coming apart.

i love the light colors of your place - i can always tell you've taken the photo of whatever you're featuring without having to look at the name at the bottom of the post! there's a quality of light that your home has and no offense but black/navy/dark colors would just suck the life/light out.

it's just an ironing board cover to start with, but it might start a trend where you want more and more dark things. the bold prints and graphics are cool, but you need to resist the temptation to go over to the dark side. look what happened to anakin ...

Haha, Joan, thanks for looking out for me and not letting me befall to the dark side. I think it's partially because I'm itching to move to a new place to decorate. I love our apartment, but it's also falling apart from the inside out, so we're always daydreaming of finding a better kept place we can remake into our current studio, and it's sometimes tempting to try out a new outfit, whether it be your clothes or your home :)
