Talking dirty? Apparently phone receivers harbor more germs than any surface, even more than toilet seats. So, it is advisable to clean your phone at least once a month, and especially if you've recently been ill and/or if you share the phone with someone other than yourself. On the Martha Stewart site, they list some simple tips on how to clean a phone. The main thing to remember is not to spray anything directly onto the phone or mouth piece, but rather to wipe the surfaces with a soft cloth that has been dampedned with a mild all-purpose cleaner. You can also use a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to help get to hard-to-reach spots, but be careful not to get any liquid near the hook-switch, swivel, or any openings...

I'd be curious about cell phones, too. My screen gets icky from face makeup and whatnot...what's the best thing to use on there? I'm a bit leery of things like alcohol on that surface.
