Method omop

As much as we love the Swiffer (or in our case, knockoff electrostatic refills from the 99 Cents Only Stores), we've always thought they weren't exactly the most green of cleaning products. We go through the refills pretty quickly in our feline filled home, and those sheets must add up, considering their popularity.

The good folks at Method yet again take an idea and make it better...and better for the environment while they're at it. The new omop improves upon every facet of the typical electromagnetic sweeper: the pole handle is now curved for easier access and allows for more surface pressure; the cloth inserts are made of 100% corn derivatives and are compostable; the omop can be used wet/dry by simply changing to a washable microfiber mop pad (wash and reuse up to 50 times). We're impressed...and ordering one for ourselves right now.

I have something very similar that is for wood floors. It came with a wood floor cleaner and a wood floor polisher/conditioner. There are two different washable pads, one for dry the cleaner and one for the conditioner. It works great and because it is washable you don't have to throw it away like the swiffer. I still use a regular broom before hand though.

I think Method is a great company; their shower spray is my favorite cleaning product. I'm not surprised that they've improved on the basic mop.

the daily shower spray, or the shower spray cleaner? i use the daily shower spray - albeit, not daily - so i can't say whether it reduces buildup.

Oh man, this is awesome. For years I've been trying to figure out how I could still use my swiffer wet jet but with a non-toxic chemical spray, and now here's my solution! I'm totally taking a trip out to target today to pick one up.

I picked up an omop last night. I love it already. The curved shape seems to push the mop head into the floor better than anything else i've tried. I love the compost-able "swifters" and the fact that I don't have to waste water in a bucket. The microfiber pads really scrub even though they feel SO soft. I thought the pads might be difficult to wring out, but it rinsed very easily!

OK. I just used my newly purchased (because of your recommendation) omop. I LOVE it. For one thing, as someone who is vertically chanllenged, the omop seems to be ergonomically designed and moves w/ little effort. Need to get under a low piece of furniture? Just flip it. Having become addicted to Method shower spray and also disposable wipes, I'm beginning to think that these guys are da bomb!

Does anyone know which cleaner would be best for laminate? I know Swiffer's wood is safe for laminate. Thanks for any input.

I bought a Omop a few months ago based on this article that I read on here. It is really not that well made. Hard to push around. After on a few times using, the handle went flying off today. Sure was not happy. For the money, it is just not worth it. Will be taking my back to Target. I am sad it did not work out, cause I love the look. I will still use other Method products, but just not ones like the mop.

Does anyone know if the insert thingys for the omop will fit on the swiffer mop? I dont want to just throw out a large hunk of plastic to buy another, cuter one that does pretty much the same job, but i like the idea of compostable wipes.
