It's no secret that many of the writers for Apartment Therapy are big fans of Method cleaning products. We're not shillin' nothing here and don't receive a dime from Method for saying we love their products for their balance of effectiveness (oops, looks like Aaron over at NYC was one step ahead), mild scents and also admittedly their packaging. Make that "especially" because of their packaging, since we often buy one product and keep refilling and reusing the container over and over (we still have the first Karim Rashid designed dishwashing soap dispenser under our sink). And now they've come out with a new line made from 25% recycled #2 HDPE plastic with eye-catching innovative packaging design yet again...

They somewhat resemble ergonomically designed personal hygeine products.

I am not digging the packaging. Odd shape.

Does anyone else hate their current dish soap bottle? It so easily gets clogged with dry soap that it became necessary to cut the bottle open and put the soap in another container. With the previous bottle we could take off the lid and rinse it off, but not with this one.

Sarahj, I bought a little clear toiletry-style squirt bottle (about 3 inches high). I pour dishsoap into that and leave it out on the counter. It's easy to clean and better than any packaging with words on it.

The shapes might seem odd, but they are designed perfectly to squirt into your toilet.
We haven't had any issues with their dishsoap clogging, but we prefer to buy Method's unscented Naked dishsoap (and handsoap) and add a 1/2 tsp of our own essential oil to it before putting it into a RoyalVBK squeeze bottle (designed by Arian Brekveld). These bottles are fantastic!. We think Method's scents are fake and chemical.

Much as I usually like all things Method, I have to wonder about the finely milled marble in the LeScrub. Method likes to promote their products as being green, but isn't marble a non-renewable resource (and therefore not green)?
What am I missing here?

Perhaps the marble is obtained as refuse from tile/flooring/sculpture projects, the chips and dust that would otherwise be thrown out? Just trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I was just muttering last night about the ill-design of the dish soap cap. It was so clogged and then I ended up breaking it off by mistake - Now I am destine for over pouring for the remainder of my soap. Oye!
Haven't used my toilet cleaner yet, hopefully we wont have any mechanical issues there. I'm worried the odd shape will lend to dropping it into the toilet.

My problem with the current dish soap bottle is that, with wet hands, it's really tough to grab.
Perhaps that's because I keep mine behind stuff, and so have to reach from above.
It still bugs the heck out of me.

I was excited to see these products appear in their line. Until now, toilet bowl cleaner was the only item that i had not replaced with a greener option. I will definitely give it a try.
Itâs good to see that method is paying as much attention to the materials used in their packaging as the ingredients inside them. I saw the Omop at Target the other day and they have replaced the large plastic container that it previously came in with biodegradable bamboo packaging.
