Microfiber cleaning cloths?

052407microfiber.jpgThe buzz word in cleaning cloths lately has been Microfiber. But do they really work? How many of you are currently using them? Have any of you noticed a big difference between them and a traditional cotton cloth? Out of all the options out there, is there a brand you trust? Please share your thoughts or reviews in the comments...

Currently, we've been using a selection/multipack we bought from Target. So far, the one intended for cleaning glass has been our favorite. The texture is not as soft and fuzzy as the others. It wipes up pretty well simply having it damp with water, without even using any additional cleaners. We've heard that with some of the other cloths, the more you wash them, the better they are. Has anyone experienced this?

Yes they work. A traditional cloth will leave lint. microfiber doesn't. You can clean a mirror with just plain tap water.

These are a godsend for delicate surfaces, especially for electronics surfaces.

Love them. They are dust magnets.

i use them to dust surfaces, but also they work in the swiffer (dry) to pick up dust/crumbs on the floor. beats buying disposable swiffer cloths!

I don't know if this is only my problem, but I've found that the Method line of microfiber cloths doesn't grab dirt as well as some of the generic brands. Recently, I bought some more Method cloths to confirm my hunch and found that they have an almost glossy, smooth texture that would make a great blanket but seems to leave lots of dust behind. YMMV though. Anyone else having this issue too?

I'm a HUGE Method fan so I got the window microfiber cloth and was way disappointed - lint everywhere especially on the computer screen. And that even after being washed. However
the microfiber cloth on the omop is fantastic! It just cleans and
cleans and cleans some more.

I second the Method omop. I have all hardwood/tile in my house, so I have retired my vacuum for a few microfiber cloths and a dust buster to get big crumbs. I gave up paper towels for 2008 and ordered 10 cloths from eco-me. They're pretty nice so far. I've found that they work best when they are damp. You don't need harsh cleaners, either.
