The Not-So-Magical Self-Cleaning Lint Wizard

092807_lintwizard.jpgMan. I'm always skeptical whenever I see those infomercials (especially the Oxyclean guy who feels that it's necessary to shout everything. And I have to say that when my mum tested it out on some grimy towels, it didn't do diddly). Yesterday, some very thoughtful marketing person sent a free sample of the self-cleaning Lint Wizard to everyone on my block, with proclamations of its ingenuity and amazing ability to suck up dust bunnies.

As a person who has "Lint Rollers" as a staple on the shopping list, I was actually quite thrilled...until I tested it on the bedspread, a few shirts, my dog's blanket, the sofa, and the car. I'll put it this way: it's decent if you own, say, a cat or dog who doesn't shed a whole lot, or if you're OCD and terribly meticulous with ensuring your home and person is a dust-free zone at all times. But if you are a hardcore lint-rolling customer, stick to the 3M tape rollers. I know they're wasteful with all the tape and whatnot, so maybe someone has a more eco-friendly option?

on the ny section there was a post about lint/hair removal tools. pretty interesting.
im also using simple brow tape... less expensive and it works like a 3m.

I know this has been mentioned before, but the Furminator (http://www.furminator.com/) is as good as it looks and will reduce the amount of shedding in the first place. Yeah, I've tried a few other lint removers, but always come back to the tape rollers, too. Thanks for giving your review of this one.
