"Squeasy" Tea Bag Squeezer

111407squeasy.jpg

As much as I enjoy a good "cup o' joe" to start the day, I also like to partake in a nice cup of tea to end it. If you happen to know a tea lover, or are one yourself, this Squeasy Tea Bag Squeezer could make a fantastic gift. It prevents you from burning your fingers on a hot tea bag, and lets you get every last drop out.

It even comes with a porcelain saucer to rest the squeezer and teabag on afterwards. $12.99 at the Container Store.

Actually you dont want to squeeze the tea bag out when you are done with it. It will release all of the tanins into the tea that make it bitter.

I have this little trick where I place the bag on the back of my teaspoon, then use the string to wrap it around the spoon and squeeze the bag. While it doesn't get every last drop (you don't want to pull the string too hard or it will detach from the bag), it does squeeze enough out so the bag doesn't drip on it's way to the compost bin.

Seriously, we're all trying to be green and don't need more useless stuff! I do what rasabasa does. Works just fine.

I was going to say, "how cool," until I read rasabasa's comment.

signe's right - don't squeeze your teabags.

Such a great design! I'm always burning my fingers on teabags, or trying to use the back of the spoon to press it against the cup.

I drink REALLY good teas that contain good things for the body so I squeeze to get all the goodness out. I don't care about bitterness.
