Cork Pots: Not Only for Plants

atla-061808-corkpot.jpgWe're a big fan of cork. It's recyclable and compostable and soft. We like cork pots for plants. No need to put a coaster underneath a pot so the ceramic doesn't scratch our furniture. They're less likely to break when we put them down too quickly. But we like them for other reasons too...

  • We'd use them in the bathroom, even in our shower, to hold the daily essentials that didn't fit into our medicine cabinet and not worry about them getting wet.
  • We'd use them by our bed, with a plant, yes, but also to tack up our to do list for tomorrow.
  • On our landing strip, they'd hold our weekly flowers or our incoming mail. The outside would be covered with pushpins that would hold the dry cleaning cleaning stubs we can never find until later confirming that our dry cleaner did indeed give us all of our items.
  • In the kitchen, they'd hold our utensils and the recipe for the dessert we're planning for tonight's dinner.

Made in Portugal from recycled cork, they're available through Matteria Shop

I love these==can you really plant directly in them or are they just to slip over a plastic pot?
