the best wine as decor I've ever seen was a couple that used wine crates for their bathroom flooring. Stunning DIY...

I've set up pretty much the same thing as this post, except in the center, I have a reed diffuser.

CozyLittleCave,
I absolutely love the wine crates floor as well as the leather belt floor. The belts reminded me of this rug (which I hope to make some day): http://www.modernests.com/2008/11/i-wish-i-thought-of-it-leather-belts-rug.html

I used to date a guy whose family would save every cork, and write the date and the occaision on it. Like, "Aug. 13--Walk on Superior beach" or "June 20--Krissy's Wedding." Then they'd put it by a framed photo of the event, or in a box for the less-momentous events.
To me, it's too sentimental. But they really liked the whole idea of it and I can see how others would too, so I thought I would share.

In one of the photos in the new CB2 catalog, there's a vase filled with wine corks.
