Tall and Sleek Workstation Tucks Away Desktop Tower

061509_sz_datacenter3.gifAnother great find from Ikea's Swedish forum. The bar-style workstation was made using MDF while the LCD screen was mounted on the wall using a Vesa mount. We love that Sundis' computer tower hides within the desk, hidden from plain sight. But what's the white dome thing on the floor next to the desk?

The white dome thingy is the Apple Airport. It's the router that connects your computer to the internet.

It is a sub or large diameter speaker for the sound system. They are running a PC and have matching stereo speakers.

Yeah, it's a subwoofer. You can see the matching sats on the desk thingie. Can't remember the name of that three-way speaker system at the moment - it's probably from h/k.

#1: Not an AirPort Base Station.

#2: Buy a Mac and (among MANY other benefits too long to list,) there's no need for this freaky-looking desk because there is NO tower. Blegh! >_

Yes definitely a subwoofer, I've seen that set somewhere too.

It's a JBL speaker.

While that's cool and all I can't imagine its good ventilation for the tower. You'd probably have a bit of a problem with it overheating (or at least getting really warm). Other than that its a very nice desk.
