Budget DIY Design Within Reach Muro Media Storage

072909DIYMuroMedia01.gifYesterday we posted about the Design Within Reach Muro Media Storage, a ingenious customizable flat panel TV and media center solution. Our big gripe was the price, as it's made of MDF board and obviously a simple design to DIY. And DIY was exactly what Unplggd reader wheelersean did...

hi
i have to say I really dislike the click- click - click to get to a post. It is really getting to be a tiresome issue at AT.

It's actually pretty easy to mount a TV and run the cables through the wall. I did this last week in a couple hours. The total cost for the mount and wall plates (to make the holes for the cables looks clean) was $100. I'm not sure why you would even fool with this.

Some people live in apartments and can't fool with cable sized holes in the walls. So their option for something clean like this is to create one like this which only uses a few L-brackets with nail sized holes. Cheap and easy to do.
