Last year, after convincing a client to pick up six killer but tattered Paul McCobb chairs, we found Tony Brienza (who has since moved his Melrose shop to Robertson and Cadillac) We were going to spray out the chairs in black lacquer ourselves and were having the old, vinyl cushions reupholstered in a sleek almond pleather, but we were not about to attempt the masterful art of recanning ourselves.
The work did not come cheap, but finding a good source was difficult, and Tony was able to find the perfect weave to make the mid century beauties look as good as new.
