Customizable "Meaning of Time" Wall Clock

051508meaning_time1.jpgWe're really hoping Bomi Kim's Meaning of Time concept goes into production, because the simple idea is simply brilliant. The mechanical centerpiece allows for customizable clock hands of your own choice to be used, opening a world of ideas specific to your own decor (or sense of humour).

*Very* cool.

I suppose if it goes into production it will sell for $600.

cassis - i was just going to say the same thing. It's so simple, so I know I won't be able to afford it at all when it comes out...

I love clock though. I actually designed one for one of my classes, so if anyone wants to pay for the production of class, i have one ready for you.

Back the the point, these need to be made cheap. and if they don't it seems like someone will run with the idea and make it cheap. I can see it as a cool DIY to create other close like the one that was on here awhile ago with the screen printed card stock front. Take one of those and one of these and customize the heck out of it.

For the kitchen, I'll use a set of chopsticks.
For the bathroom, maybe some toothbrushes...

Love both the pencils and the twigs.
So many possibilities!

I really love the idea but by looking a picture of the whole body on the original post, I'm just wondering how this can be attached on walls and how things can stay in the holes. Looks like it needs a little more work still to go into production.

The Los Angeles artist Tim Hawkinson has been making crazy clocks like this for many years...

the Coke can, the manila envelope, the packing peanuts are all clocks, and he has many more.
