PULP bulletin board by Umbra

022208pulp1.jpgAT:NY recently blogged about some of the latest from Umbra, that debuted at the recent NY Gift Fair. One of the other new items from Umbra takes a little twist on the traditional bulletin board. It's called "PULP".

022208pulp2.jpgIt's made from a bunch of stacked reprocessed paper with a recyclable paper board frame. You can either stick push pins in to hold notes, or simple wedge them in! They will retail for approximately $21.00. You can get one locally at Plush Pod, on West 3rd- 323.951.0748.

That is awesome. It would be cool to have a long narrow one to use for business cards.

I love this and/but it should be a DIY.

As someone who works in a print shop, I can tell you that while this SHOULD be DIY, it's exceptionally hard to cut paper in that fashion without the right equipment. That said, if you can sweet-talk the folks at Kinkos or Staples, or any other copy-shop to stack-cut some paper for you (phone books look very similar to this when cut), it's totally a DIY project.

I love this, but I have no intention to doing it DYI; I'd much rather buy it. But when I say I love this, I mean I REALLY REALLY REALLY love this.

Places like Kinko's will cut a stack paper for $1/cut or some such trivial amount. A DIY would be cooler -- you could customize the colors and patterns based on the paper of your choosing.
