A Bedroom for the Weekend

020808_bedroom.jpg

This weekend is supposed to be lovely but we still wouldn't mind spending it in bed. So we put together our fantasy weekend bedroom and filled it with crisp whites and happy oranges. All the details under the cut:

We're normally not even big fans of orange, but something about its poppiness, its unpretentiousness (ness) and its happiness make us want to surround ourselves with the right burst of it. All while being swaddled in luxurious white sheets and a great mattress.

Clockwise from upper left:

Fruiteria Lamp from Anthropologie
Lace People from Keep Calm
Weighted Sphere Vases from Violet
Chinoiserie Bed from Anthropologie
Slope Pillow in Orange from Room and Board

Oh wow- that's gorgeous. I'm just now getting on board with orange as well. I especially love the lamp - it looks good enough to eat.

I love that Target knocked off that lamp (clear version) for $70: http://www.target.com/Crystal-Lamp-Red-Shade-Large/dp/B000V268U8/qid=1202504158/ref=br_1_5/602-2794458-1358202?ie=UTF8&node=15392601&frombrowse=1&rh=&page=1

When I saw the pic I immediately started to pray that the lamp wouldn't be expensive when I scrolled down....I love it...too much for my budget.

petworthdc- Ditto, though the lamp is actually very similar to lamps I already own. The style is similar to lamps common to the 60s and 70s, so if you go thrifting/antiquing you may find a very similar lamp for much cheaper than Anthropologie. I know I've spotted quite a few in antique stores, though they're not always well-preserved.

Also, if you're really ambitious, you could try staining the glass on the Target version Lady J posted - though I'm not sure if it would turn out well at all.
