Glass Cloches and Alabaster slabs

In French, the word "cloche" translates to "bell", and is often used to describe the glass dome shaped "bell jars" originally used to protect plants from cold or frost, as well as help speed up the maturity process. Lately, we've been seeing these bell jars coming back as a current hot design trend, and West Elm has a fun modified version of their own. Because they have an opening at the top, they can be used like a hurricane lamp, and are ideal for a pillar candle. There is also a sphere version. West elm also shows them filled with small decorative objects, like some sea shells or starfish, to help bring back memories of seaside escapes...
