Refinished and reupholstered with a little help from her friends
This morning our upholsterer stopped by to drop off a pillow; last week, our framer advised us on how to show off a photo we'd had blown up at Icon; and yesterday, we spoke to our handyman to schedule a time to hang it. We have a posse of people we rely on for their expertise, their numbers carefully collected over the years. Our relationship with them is as important to the upkeep of our home as our relationship with our doctors is to the upkeep of our person.

it's a type of telephone table known as a "gossip bench." she found this one at a flea market.

I love this landing strip. I knew I liked telephone tables, but this is one step up. I googled gossip bench but the items I found were all victorian style.

another way to create a posse of experts is to subscribe to Angie's List, sort of a localized Consumer Reports for home service companies.
Also, I have a gossip bench that my grandad made years ago - it's been a staple of mine since I liberated it from my parents' home years ago. Perfect for a landing strip!
