101 One Yard Sewing Projects

We don't know about you guys, but we're of the school that you get your holiday shopping and DIY-ing done early so that there's time to enjoy the holidays and not be panicked about presents. This means we try to have everything bought and made by December 1st. A huge help is gonna come from One Yard Wonders:

We received a copy of One Yard Wonders about a month back and now have a number of projects picked out. We've added it to our collection of classic sewing books like Lotta Jansdotter's Simple Sewing and Amy BUtler's In Stitches as another great modern take on simple sewing projects.

As the name suggests, the book is filled with sewing projects for around the home (and some clothes) that require only one yard of fabric. This is perfect for us since we're often so smitten with a fabric that we buy a small amount of it just in case we think of something to use it for. We have a small bag of one or two yard pieces of fun fabrics that we picked up from places like sew mama sew and purl.

So far we want to make the TeePee for the kids, the smocked pillow in the round (probably for our house, but maybe for friends), the hanging laundry bag and some oven mitts and hot pads for family. We're not big sewers normally so we're looking forward to the simple patterns and easy step by step instructions.

Buy One Yard Wonders.
