If your entryway has been looking a bit blah to you lately, why not make it a February Jumpstart project? We've compiled seven tips that can liven up your entryway woes. Take a look after the jump!

Instead a coat rack, put up an assortment of coat hooks. We love this whimsical mix of vintage coat hooks with the run-of-the-mill kind to make this entryway unique even when its not covered in coats and jackets.

If your entryway is so small that it's practically nonexistent, you could still hang a piece of art and a small table directly under it to create a focal point.

A dim, narrow hallway gets even more light and space with a large mirror added to the wall.

We've been trying to convince a friend of ours to ditch his silver entryway and opt for a moodier yet soothing blue. A few coats of paint can set the tone of a space easily.

Instead of splurging on one huge mirror, go for a collection. This wall has a nice jumbled mix of vintage mirrors in different sizes which goes beautifully with a classic black and white hallway.

A repurposed garden trellis gets a paint job and some eyehooks added to become a multi-functional hallway organizer for everything from coats to keys.

If you're artsy, tap into your inner Mark Rothko: Buy or stretch a large canvas big enough to fit the hallway space. The painting, like painting the entire entryway, can set the tone for anyone entering your home.

I love these ideas, particularly the first one with the random assortment of hooks. I never thought I could do anything with the wall that is 90 degrees to the door, but this is a great, low-profile solution. Where can I find cool assortments of hooks like those in the picture?

I figure that as long as I get the excess mail, gloves, keys, etc off my credenza at least once a week I'm doing pretty darned good...

Love the umbrella stand in the blue pic. Any ideas where to get that?

i am a hook fanatic. i have them everywhere! i did a similar entryway project with a wall of hooks and found all of them at my local Re-Store (a salvage material shop here in Seattle). many of them are vintage (a few are antique), all of them unique and under $2 each.
